Little Mount Baptist Church - A Photographic History

Here are some photographs from the past showing the former church homes of the Little Mount Baptist Church. Little Mount Baptist was organized on August 21, 1801 with 35 organizing members. LMBC is currently residing in their fourth building. Unfortunately, no images exist of the first church. These images below were provided by LMBC member and pianist, Berttye Brown. Here is a photograph of the second Little Mount Baptist Church. As you can see the congregation is very large and everyone is very well dressed in all their finery. Notice the ladies using umbrellas to beat the heat! And everyone has a hat on.

Hats are still the norm and notice it is in either Spring or Summer and a bit later than the first photo because the trees have grown a bit and are sporting leaves.

This photograph was taken in the 1970's. Obviously taken in Winter with snow on the ground. The current parsonage was built in 1964.
